Just after Reagan became president he was shot by an actor named John W. Hinckley Jr. trying to win the heart of Jodie Foster. And he was successful at this.

Reagan did a lot of public speaking after office until February 3rd, 1994 due to his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. On April 13th, 1992 Reagan was assaulted. 41 year old Richard Paul Springer smashed a thirty pound crystal statue of an eagle and some flying shards of glass hit Reagan, yet he remained uninjured. Reagan died of pneumonia, caused partly by his Alzheimer’s disease, on June 5th 2004 at his home in Bel Air, California. He was the first president to die in the 21st century.
